Greetings!
I’m Sara Fazeli.

I was born and grew up in Tehran, Iran.

Being surrounded by well-known musicians made me always imagine myself on the stage. I began playing santour when I was eleven and had the privilege of learning Radif (Persian Classical Music) from Mrs. Arfa Atrai.

Later, I pursued industrial engineering in college. However, my love for music led me to the master's program in music. I received my master's degree in ethnomusicology from Tehran Art University. Simultaneously, at the Music Museum of Iran, I was working on digitizing the Museum’s record collections in collaboration with Hildesheim University.

My passion for music and learning motivated me to start my Ph.D. journey.

I am a third-year Ph.D. candidate in ethnomusicology at the University of Florida.

At the University of Florida, I had a chance to lead our Persian ensemble in 2023 and had several performances with the UF AfroPop ensemble.
